Mandatory Audition Meeting: Wednesday, November 1st 6 p.m. in the RHS Cafeteria

**Both Parent and Dance Team Hopeful needs to attend the meeting

 

Paper work due: Wednesday, November 1st at the informational meeting

 

Dance Prep Clinic: Saturday, November 11th 9 a.m.2 p.m Cost: $30

 

Dance Audition Dates

Audition Clinic: November 27th and 28th 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Auditions: November 29th 4:30-10 p.m.

Dance Team Results Posted: December 1st 4:00 p.m.

Who’s eligible to audition?

-Current 8th-11th students who will be attending Rouse HS in the fall of 2017.

Where does Rhythm Dance Company perform?
Fall:

-RDC performs in the band halftime show in the fall. They are the visual ensemble of the band. Equipment and props could be used during the show as well, but the majority of their performance will be dance technical skills. RDC performs at all varsity football games and band competitions in the fall.
-RDC also performs at events like Meet the Raiders, pep rallies, and iDance.

Spring:
-RDC is a competition dance team in the spring. They perform at basketball games, dance competition, and Royal Revue.
-Only current Rouse students that make RDC will compete in the spring. 8th graders that audition will officially begin team activities at May band rehearsals. 8th graders will not be required to attend spring rehearsals and performances.

Time commitment?

Fall:
-RDC is expected to attend summer dance and band camp in July and August. They also attend all band rehearsals in the fall. At this time band rehearsals are:

  • Monday 4:00-6:45 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 7:00 a.m.-8:15 a.m.

-A calendar will be given in August with all football game dates and competition dates for the fall semester.

Spring:
-The majority of RDC rehearsal is done during class time. A few after school rehearsals will be scheduled depending on contest routine needs.

-Royals is a yearlong commitment.
-Royals are expected to attend summer dance camp in July and August.
-Royals rehearse every day at 7:30 a.m.
-Royals perform at many school events throughout the year
