Director Amy McKee
Amy McKee is in her tenth year as the Royals director and was the director of the Running Brushy Middle School Silver Stars for five years prior to joining the Rouse High School family.
Amy is originally from Gilmer, Texas, where she trained at Footlights Dance Studio for 13 years. She was captain of her varsity cheer team and played volleyball, basketball, and softball at Harmony High School. She is a former member of the Trinity Valley Community College Cardette Drill Team and served as freshmen representative and captain her sophomore year. She was also a two-year member of the elite Cardette Showgirls. She is currently a staff member of the Cardette Dance Your Heart Out Camp. While at TVCC, she performed at the Dallas Children’s Health Holiday Parade in Dallas and the televised Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC. She has also traveled to Spain and Italy with the Cardettes.
Amy is a graduate of Texas A&M University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a teaching emphasis in Biology. Amy was a member of the Eta Alpha chapter of the Kappa Delta sorority where she served as a SET leader. She was also a member of Aggie Coaches and Kinesiology teachers.
Amy is a 10 year member of TDEA and has been a workshop presenter. She is passionate about helping her students grow as leaders both in the school and community. She wants to see her dancers not only grow in their dance technique, but learn how to work together to achieve their goals.
Amy is married to a wonderful man, Jonathan, and they have a son, Logan and daughter, Landry.
