Dance I-IV
The Rouse High School dance department is open to all students, regardless of previous training. We offer 4 years of dance training: Dance I-IV. Students earn both fine art credit and P.E. credit with the completion of Dance I and can earn fine art or elective credit in Dance II-IV. Dance classes cover a variety of dance styles including ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical, contemporary and hip hop along with a variety of health, wellness, and fitness concepts. All dance students have the opportunity to perform during halftime at a varsity football game, halftime of a basketball game, and the Rouse Royal Spring Show.
Dance Team Prep
Dance Team Prep is a semester long course offered to those students who wish to audition for the Rouse Royals or the Rhythm Dance Company in December. Dance Team Prep offers a more rigorous dance technique course to help prepare the student for auditions. No experience is necessary, but it is strongly encouraged. Students in dance team prep earn both fine art credit and P.E. credit with the completion of dance team prep. Dance Team prep students have an opportunity to perform during halftime at a varsity football game. Dance team prep becomes the Royal Rookie class in the spring.
